Greetings!

Let's talk Stash!!!

Let the men have their sports talk! We have more important things to share...like: How do you deal with your STASH?

We are constantly hearing from our customers just where and how they stash their Stash. Another story shared often is just how they are going to get their newly purchased yarn into their home without being noticed. Then there is the final disposition of remaining yarns, sadly, after the needles are permanently silenced.

We would love to hear your tale and share it with others. Please post your story and or photo on our Facebook page or Ravelry Page. If you don't have access to either, feel free to e-mail it to us and we will share it for you.

This could be a hoot! Please do share!

Signature Needle Arts

They are here and they are stunning! Really! Who knew knitting needles could be out of this world?

We do not have every size by any means, but we have a good smattering of each style for you to try. We do have some on hand that we can sell but are taking orders for specific needles. The order must be sent in by April 27 so please make a point of checking them out and placing your order by April 26. After that we will take special orders and place them once we have reached the $200 minimum order

Also, several people have suggested that they would not buy Signatures for themselves but buying them as a gift for another knitter seems right. SO - we have decided to start a WISH LIST! Place your coveted needle or anything in the store on your list and all you would need to do is direct your family and friends to stop by the store and find out just what you want!

Old favorites include the Simple Summer Shawl , Crochet Pouch Bag , a Dye Workshop and socks on DPNs to name a few. Our featured toy will be the ever popular Felted Sheep. Check the website for a complete listing and sign up soon. Classes begin May 1.

What's New in the Shop?

A couple new Gizmos and Gadgets to enhance your knitting experience...

 gizmo gadget

Have you ever had to drop a stitch down to fix a stitch? Well that is all fine and well when it is stockinette stitch and you can chain right up, but what about Garter Stitch? This set of 3 different sized, double pointed crochet hooks make the task much easier. The Fix-A-Stitch tools come with detailed instructions and are proudly made in the USA product. Likewise, StitchKeepers by Rollie are hand made in the USA and are designed to keep those 4 or 5 DPN's together by capping both ends in rubber caps attached to each other by elastic so they do not fall off. They sure make traveling with socks much easier - no more stitched wriggling off the needles!

Short Rows Revisited

They may seem mystical and frightening, but really they are a snap!

wing span

You merely knit a partial row, leaving some stitches un-knit on the left hand needle and turn, knitting to the end of the row. WingSpan which Mary is working on with Kauni Yarn, is based on short rows and then casting on additional stitches before moving on to the next triangle. This is a perfect project for beginning short rows because it is done in garter stitch and does not require a wrap and turn which is required in Stockinette.

Mary started this last weekend and the Kauni yarn has now turning to red will moving on to the next of the rainbow colors...check it out Monday at the shop...it probably will be done!!
