And one more thing for a good cause...
Fudge for Troops

Our neighbor, the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (807 Genesee Street, Delafield, WI 53018, 262-646-7778) will donate a pound of fudge to troops overseas for every pound they sell to local customers this month.

While we're on the subject of folks in uniform, The Wounded Warrior project has now topped $2000.00 in donations from the sale of knitted dishcloths, thanks to all who participate.

How many stuffed animals does it take to fill a shop window? Help us find out by taking up our TOY CHALLENGE.

knitch is partnering with PB&J (Pals Bring Joy) to collect as many knitted and crocheted toys as we can to donate to the oncology wing at Milwaukee Children's Hospital.

They estimate that they need at least 35 toys per month. It would be wonderful to gather enough toys to take them through the holiday season...that would be about 140 toys!

During August, we will devote our "climbing tree" window display to the toys that are brought in for donation. The clever crafter who

donates the greatest number of handmade dolls or animals BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15th will earn a $20 gift certificate to knitch.

Toys for PBJ
Knitted, felted, and crocheted toys

Even if you have time to make only one toy, you can still help us fill our windows and bring joy to a young person who is suffering severe illness. PB& J would also love to have finishers who would stitch up knit toys. Any help is welcome...even cash.

Sock Blanks and Sweater Success
Summer school graduation, knitted style

Laurie and Kris completed Barb's Next Step--First Sweater class this summer. With the skills they learned in class, they're both ready to move on to knitting sweaters for themselves. We know at least one of them has the pattern and yarn all picked out already!
