| Calling all knitters with incomplete and languishing projects... | | UFO stands for Un-Finished Object in contemporary knitter's parlance. Is "space junk" keeping you from starting or enjoying NEW projects?
Gather with others in the same "starship" every Sunday from 1-3pm. Socks on Sunday has now evolved into a UFO support group.
Joint encouragement, humor, and informal knitting advice will provide the life-sustaining atmosphere you need to banish UFOs from your knitting dreams.
Want to learn how to finish your projects "right" from the start? Register for the Finishing Workshop, Saturday, February 26th from 9am-noon.

| Knitting for a Better World | | NEW Wisconsin Chapter of ChemoCaps Opening
Delafield resident and knitter Robbie Rose has formed a NEW Wisconsin Chapter of ChemoCaps. As the volunteer facilitator, she will coordinate the distribution of knitted donations for adults and children undergoing cancer treatment in our local area. ChemoCaps.com is the largest charitable knitting program in the world. It is endorsed by the American Cancer Society and its global sister organizations. Under the Chemocaps.com umbrella, there are 3 programs:
- The "Heather Spoll No Hair Day Hat Program" provides chemo caps for children and adults wherever they are needed, at no charge. You will find free patterns and guidelines at the ChemoCaps website.
- "Babes for the Brave" provides knitted dolls, dudes, and animals for children and adolescents that require inpatient hospital care for cancer. Nurses or caseworkers must request these. (The patterns for the dolls are found in Clare Garland's books Knitted Babes and Dream Toys, available at knitch)
- The "Eddie Bear Program" provides knitted bears for kids that need inpatient hospital care. Like "Babes for the Brave", the bears must be requested by nurses or caseworkers.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: You can make a difference for a lot of kids and adults going through a difficult time. No contribution is too small. You matter to these people. Please: - Volunteer to knit hats, bears, or dolls for the Wisconsin area.
- Donate soft, washable yarns for chemo caps.
- Bring your finished items to knitch. Robbie will collect them and distribute to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. (Depending on response, other donation points may be added in the future.)
To join or for more information, contact:Robbie Rose 262-965-2203robbierose@centurytel.net(put "Chemocaps" in the subject line) Registered volunteer knitters for ChemoCaps may request donated yarn from knitch for making toys and caps. Talk to Mary or Kathleen: 262-646-9392
