| | Passing on the Passion
An recent online survey of over 5,000 knitters and
crocheters conducted by the Craft Yarn Council of America revealed that the
passion for yarn-craft leads the average stitcher not only to complete several
dozen projects every year, but also encompasses a spirit of sharing-- both
finished products and skills.
Almost
halfof the respondents reported that at least one item they made went towards
a charitable cause.
And over 75% said
they had taught at least one other person to knit or crochet in the past year.
That's at least 3,750 new knitters and crocheters.

The stitches are all made, the pieces are all blocked:
the "Nor-way" knitting students are ready for next week, when instructor Arnhild Hillesland will return to guide them through the finishing steps of sweater construction.
They'll learn how to cut open the center front of the sweater body--along the steek stitches--and join all the pieces together

Thank you to
everyone for your patience during the transition phase from the old punch card system to the new computer-based system.
Response has been
overwhelmingly positive--who doesn't appreciate one less card to keep track of in your wallet!
LAST DAY for punching or redeeming the old Frequent Buyer punch cards is April 30.
As of May 1, all FBCs expire.
NO EXCEPTIONS.

Online Pattern Easy Ribbed Lace Scarf

"A fun knit--and only one row to remember," Kathleen says about her most recent project, now on display in the shop.
You can access the pattern for the Easy Ribbed Lace Scarf through Ravelry or directly
from the designer's blog.
Kathleen used 2 skeins Gedifra Fiorista Fino. She modified the pattern by casting on only
30 stitches.
Cast on more stitches and make it longer for a great summer shawl, too.
