Converge Northwest's Annual Gathering 2012
is a month away and will take place October 19-20, at Sylvan Way Baptist Church in Bremerton, WA. We will be reporting and celebrating what God has done and forecasting and anticipating where He is taking us.
This year our theme is "Irresistible Community." Paul wrote to the Colossian church about God's mystery revealed: "Christ in you, the hope of Glory." (Colossians 1:27)
Ten years ago, Bill Hybels wrote these compelling words in Courageous Leadership, "The local church is the hope of the world and its future rests primarily in the hands of its leaders." Today that is as true as ever. For over 123 years, our churches have been linking together, to proclaim that hope is found in Jesus Christ. With heart and passion for the Northwest, church leaders have gathered together to explore how we can be more effective in our ministries.
The culture is changing rapidly around us. No matter where you live in the northwest, the methods and models for effectiveness keep shifting. But do we need better tricks in our bag? This year we return to a basic truth: Jesus envisions His Church to be an Irresistible Community. We will hear amazing stories of how God is changing lives in our Northwest churches: large, small, young and old.
Come and join this sacred assembly, centered on the transformational power of Jesus.
THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT EVENT! As a reminder, we will be making significant decisions and it is vital that we have a good turnout for this momentous occasion!
According to our ByLaws,
"each Member Church is entitled to send as delegates to the annual meeting a pastor or designee and four other members who are in good standing of that church. A member church of more than 100 members may send one additional Delegate for each additional fifty members."
