Kouri Agents
Greetings,

Guess what. We love insurance. I know it sounds a little crazy, but we do. The satisfaction of saving a family or business money, educating them on their insurance and providing them with a degree of service they aren't used to is a great thing. There are few things that can beat the feeling of helping a family rebuild after a loss, step in and protect their assets after a severe accident, or providing the resources to replace a car that would otherwise put them in a financial crisis.

How many times have we seen benefits and funds set up for a family or business that did not have an adequate insurance plan? Not in every case, but in many, this could have been avoided if the proper insurance was put in place for just such a crisis. Our goal isn't to make you "insurance poor", but to use your dollars to create the best value and to ensure if a tragedy occurs, that you and your family can move forward quickly, comforted with the knowledge that the correct insurance is in place to help.

In 2011, make it a goal to give us a call and review your current insurance needs. Life changes, and often your insurance needs to be adjusted to do its job properly. Give us a call today, we look forward to hearing from you.

Your friends,

1. Employee vs. Independent Contractor.
An important difference separates these two...

It is not uncommon for a small business person to describe the people who work for him as being independent contractors, not employees. This is especially common with contractors. While this can be true, many times it is not, and is the result of misunderstanding the difference between the two. I found a great article from the IRS which provides a clear and accurate description on how to determine who is an IC, and who is an employee.

3. What Are The Best Cars for Teen Drivers?

The right car can help for safety and insurance costs...

This is a question we get asked all the time. What car should I look at to keep my costs down? The Wall Street Journal has a pretty nice article on a study they did that compares a variety of keys characteristics to come up with a list of what they consider the best rides for teen drivers.

Thank you for your support...

On behalf of all of us at Kouri Insurance, please accept our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness showed to us as we deal with Randy's death. The business part has taken care of itself as we made a transition of the ownership and management of the agency in 2005.

The difficult part has certainly been the personal impact of losing a father, mentor and friend. Dad was a unique personality that could take over a room with his presence. He could walk into a room with 100 strangers and walk out with a 100 friends. For most of us in the office, Randy was there when our careers started so it is an adjustment to not have his advice readily available.

Your words of encouragement, cards and memorials have been a source of great strength for our family. This experience has provided another reminder of the great group of people that we are privileged to call friends.

Blessings,
