Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Wow. What a first quarter. All of us at Kouri Insurance would like to send a big THANK YOU for all of your referrals. We are starting off on a great note and look forward to a busy 2010.
Judging by what we see from our competitors, it looks like this year is filled with opportunities for our agency. Unless the Summer brings some serious storms, we anticipate our rates to stay pretty steady throughout the year. The exception will be those instances where a claim has an effect on a policy.
Please remember that we offer $10 gas cards for each of your referrals. If you have not received one for a referral you sent, let us know. Some choose to keep the referral information private so we don't always know the source
After the winter we had with ice dams and heavy snowfall, let us hope for a summer free of major storms. I think we all deserve a summer of warm, wind free days! (As I write this, the winds are blowing about 40 mph!)

1. Landlords, this is for you!
Protect yourself from a lawsuit...
|
As a responsible landlord, you have taken the steps to have sufficient property and liability coverage in the event a claim occurs. If a loss occurs, you are protected. Or are you?
Do you require your tenants to carry renters insurance? You should. As the property owner, you have the final responsibility for any activity that occurs on the premises - even if your renter is responsible.
An inexpensive renters insurance policy can save you a lot of time and stress if your renter suffers or creates a loss. These policies start at less than $10 a month and provide important protection for your renter and you.
It is not uncommon for a renter to sue the property owner if the tenant does not carry renters insurance and suffers a loss. You may be without fault, but you will spend a lot of time and money fighting a frivolous lawsuit to prove the wiring was fine or the premises were properly maintained.
A simple, inexpensive requirement will go a long way to provide important coverage for your tenant - and you. |
2. Our Customers Are Famous!
Great job on great accomplishments.. |
It has been a lot of fun lately to read the Argus or watch the news on TV and seeing some great faces. Congratulations on being recognized for a job well done.
Kristina Kuehn - Great article. K's is a gem.
Masafumi Naoe - A sushi master. A downtown staple. Jim Reiter - A golf legend out of Hidden Valley GC.
Regan Smith - A very nice Kelo interview on his family.
Ted Haggar - Generous to his core. The heart of Franklin Food Market.
Judy Davis - Congratulations on a wonderful teaching career. (Bryan's 7th grade teacher. Still my favorite.)
Eric Lundin - Nominated as a Volunteer of the Year for his work with Habitat For Humanity.
Matt Kemper - Nominated as a Volunteer of the Year for his work with Childrens Miracle Network.
While this list is certainly not all inclusive, we are proud that we have seen so many of our clients do wonderful things. From personal accomplishments to charitable acts, you are a talented and caring group of people. |

3. Distracted Driving Is Deadly.
Research reveals some disturbing facts...
Research by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration showed that drivers who send and receive texts take their eyes off the road for an average of 4.6 seconds while texting. At 55 mph, that means the driver is traveling the length of a football field without looking at the road!
- Nearly 6,000 people died in 2008 in crashes involving a distracted driver. More than half a million were injured. (NHTSA)
- Driving while using a cell phone reduces the amount of brain activity associated with driving by 37%!
- Drivers using hand-held devices are four times more likely to have crashes serious enough to cause injury.
Please be sure to exercise caution on the road. The best advice if you really need to call or text is to pull over. Do this for your safety, and the safety of those around you. | |

Bryan's Corner
Are we still The Local Best? We need your votes!
If you have a moment, and feel we have earned it, I would appreciate it you could take a moment and vote for our agency in the insurance categories of the The Local Best.
We have been fortunate, and very appreciative, that you have voted us in since 2007 for home and auto insurance and would love to continue our streak.
Summer storm season is approaching.
Please be sure to keep your gutters clean and downspouts in good working order. Have you checked your sump pump for the season? Now is a good time to make sure it is working.
Sincerely,
