Partner Yoga Workshop
Tuesday, March 6th, 5:00-6:15pmJoin Christa Tyson, RYT, Doula for Partner Yoga, we will explore modified yoga poses (asana) and breath-work (pranayama). Partner Yoga positions utilize the forms and principles of individual asana while incorporating the presence of another person to deepen the impact of the poses. Fee is $30 per couple. Prenatal Partner Yoga Workshop
Sunday, March 11th, 11:30am-12:45pm
Join Christa Tyson, RYT, Doula for Prenatal Partner Yoga! This workshop is modeled after our Partner Yoga workshop, but is prenatal-friendly, offering pose modifications that are gentler and safe for you and your baby! Fee is $30 per couple. Meditation & Movement Workshop
Tuesday, March 13th, 5:15 - 6:15 pm With Shelley Szymko-Carroll, L.Ac: Calm & de-stress with gentle movements that are used to open and relax the mind making mediation easy to achieve. We will use simple visualizations to focus the mind and instill relaxation & peace. This class is for beginners, as well as those who meditate regularly. All participants will enjoy a restorative, profound mind-body experience that combines movements, meditation & visualizations. Fee is $20. Please RSVP at 585-244-1280 ext. 2

Labor Positions & Comfort Measures
Sunday, April 1st, 2:30-5:30pm 
With Christa Tyson, Prenatal RYT and Birth Doula: This workshop has been expanded due to overwhelming positive feedback! You and your partner can take this workshop at any time during your pregnancy. It is recommended that you take the workshop early enough to practice the techniques learned in class. We will be practicing many of the positioning options during the workshop so wear comfortable clothing! You will receive handouts on everything you learn. Fee is $80 per couple. Meet the New Faces at CNY!
Natalie Walters, LMT
Natalie has been practicing massage Therapy for four years. She graduated from Monroe Community College in 2007 where she received her Associates/Science degree in Massage Therapy.Shortly after she worked for a Salon and Spa in Rochester for two years, where she gained experience and more knowledge about massage. Although she was raised in Rochester, Natalie was born in Jamaica and that is where her inspiration came from to pursue an International Massage Therapy License. This would allow her to travel the world and learn new cultural massages. Natalie considers herself a very nurturing and patient LMT, and believes in healthy living along with a natural and peaceful environment. CNY Healing Arts has created that perfect combination. Natalie believes that Massage Therapy is a great way for everyone to relax and de-stress from the everyday life: "We all need to learn how to take time out for ourselves."

Kristen Carroll-Gilbert, L.Ac.
Kristen Carroll Gilbert, MSAOM, L.Ac, holds a Masters of Science degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Seneca Falls, NY. She is a New York State licensed acupuncturist, is nationally board-certified in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine and is extensively trained in all modalities of Oriental Medicine including herbal medicine. She is also a member of the Phi Chi Omega Honor Society. Additionally, Kristen received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in psychology with a specialization in Women's Studies. While issues related to Women's health and fertility are an area of strong interest and focus for Kristen, she also has comprehensive skill in treating various conditions including, but not limited to anxiety, stress, pain & injury, allergies, migraines, sleep problems, digestive issues, smoking addictions, weight loss and skin issues. Kristen also has extensive training in facial rejuvenation acupuncture.

Abby MacRae, CYT Abby studied Ashtanga and pranayama at Yoga Thailand in 2006 and the following year, during a 10 month teacher training with Absolute Yoga and Wellness, went to the Greek island of Lesvos to deepen her understanding with Iyengar teachers Angela Farmer and Victor VanKooten. She currently practices at Atman Yoga Studio here in Rochester and has attended workshops through Open Sky Yoga in Sanskrit and Ayurveda. In January of 2011, Abby went to India to study Advaita Vedanta philosophy and teach yoga to a group of German students. She just finished a workshop with Judith Lasater on Experiential Anatomy, an Ayurvedic workshop on seasonal change and is off to Mexico for more Ashtanga in January 2012. Abby has taught at The Retreat House, Atman Yoga Studio & Pittsford Presbyterian Church. Abby's specialty is gentle and restorative yoga with guided meditation |
