Greetings!
Hello! As the temperature continues to drop, it is very important to stay active. We can often retreat indoors and become more sedentary as it becomes less appealing outdoors. However, there are many great ways to keep your body warm and moving, even if you don't want to venture out too far into the snow. At our CNY Healing Arts Centers we have many opportunities for you to move, stretch, and relax. You can warm yourself from within with Yoga for Fetility, or any of our other amazing yoga sessions. We also have other fitness programs, such as Zumba and Bellydancing!
Try one of our great sessions to move, relax, and improve your health! Check out the online calendar here.

Asking for Help
 | | Lisa Stack, CNY Fertility Support Coordinator |
Asking someone for help isn't something that comes easily. It requires us to acknowledge that we aren't able to control the situation, or our response. It also places someone else in the seat of control momentarily. While trying to conceive, there are many things that we need to let go of. We have to let go of our cycles, as they aren't always predictable. We have to let go of our expected hormone levels, as they are sometimes to high or low. We have to let go of our perceived anatomy, as sometimes things are lacking, tilted, obstructed, or even in abundance. We also have to let go of our emotions, and the expectation that we will be 'OK' all the time. When dealing with an event with such a heavy emotional burden as trying to conceive, it is most important to allow ourselves to let go of the expectation of 'keeping it together' and ask for help. This means that we should open ourselves up to Fertile Friendships, connecting with one of our Success Stories, attending the Circle of Hope Support Group, and even reaching out to a local counselor. Initially, it can be very challenging to ask for help, and accept the work that has to be done. You may feel a little worse before you feel better. That is OK, you are just beginning to work though the many emotions that you have been holding onto these past few years. However, with a bit of patience and time, you will begin to breathe easier. You will have a more stable approach to dealing with your challenging emotions, and you won't experience such deep lows as before.
You are also welcome to sign up for our Fertile Friends program, or contact me if you would like to speak with one of our Success Stories. Finally, I have some great contacts for local counselors in the Syracuse, Rochester, and Albany locations. These women have been treating our clients for years, and they are familiar with the unique needs of someone experiencing infertility. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help! You will be surprised by how great it can feel, once you do.
