The Fertile Secret is within each of us.Dr. Rob Kiltz encourages you to find that place of peace and balance to renew your life-giving potential. Enclosed are tips to help you do just this. The Fertile Secret integrates state-of-the-art western reproductive technologies with the wisdom of eastern healing modalities. We hope you enjoy learning about The Fertile Secret.
Eastern Approach: Yoga
In one of our Yoga for Fertility classes a student recently shared with the yoga teacher, "for the first time in my life I felt like I could finally let go and BREATHE!"

Yoga is an ancient philosophical and spiritual discipline that can bring deep healing.  Tears sometimes flow during a yoga class because the specific asanas (also called poses) and breathing techniques help calm the nervous system in such a way that the incessant mind chatter that we experience is silenced (even if only for a breath or two), and we are able to feel our Divine-Self, or Spirit, shining through. This connection, or union, with our Spirit brings with it a deep sense of peace and  feels like a coming home. Yoga also connects us to our own innate healing capacity, helping us feel more empowered in our daily lives. The poses and breathing techniques we practice in a yoga class have profound healing benefits for our physical bodies as well.  Unlike other exercise, yoga nourishes the internal organs while stretching and toning our muscles and connective tissue.  Yoga increases circulation to the reproductive organs, balances hormones, and reduces stress - what better exercise is there for fertility than that?!

We encourage you to attend a Yoga for Fertility Class or Workshop, these are available at all of our CNY Healing Arts locations: Syracuse, Albany and Rochester. Please visit our website calendar here for details and we hope to see you soon!!
Western Approach: Fertility Drugs
Video: Dr. Rob Kiltz on HysteroscopyAt CNY Fertility Center, we want you to understand what you put into your body and how fertility drugs work to help you conceive. Most fertility drugs work by stimulating gonadotropins, hormones that help boost egg production by stimulating the pituitary gland to secrete FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone). Fertility drugs can be used during IVF (in-vitro fertilization) or IUI (intrauterine insemination), or with timed sexual intercourse at home. Below is a list of some of the most commonly prescribed fertility drugs:

Clomid or Serophene (clomiphene citrate)
Clomid has been used for over 25 years to help treat abnormal ovulation. These antiestrogen drugs help stimulate your FSH and LH hormone production by helping your body to first release gonadotropins from your hypothalamus.

Clomid is an oral medication that is taking at a specific dosage for five days, starting a few days after your period. If it works, you should start ovulating within seven days of taking the last pill. Sometimes, the dosage needs to be increased if it fails to cause ovulation, otherwise your doctor will try a new treatment.

Follistim and Gonal-F:
These IV (intravenous) or injectable drugs, are created in a laboratory using recombinant DNA technology. They help your body to produce more FSH, the hormone that causes your immature egg cells to grow into fertilizable ones.

Bravelle or Fertinex:
These IV drugs also work by stimulating FSH production but they are extracted and purified from the urine of post-menopausal women. These drugs are typically less potent and less expensive than the ones manufactured through recombinant DNA technology, which means less side effects but possible also decreased effectiveness.
