Dear UIL supporter,

We would like to thank you for all your support this year. We have had an amazing Spring and Summer with many visitors coming from all over as well as many new ideas for the year to come!

The horses loved seeing everyone and it has been a joy to watch the beautiful connections between horse & human hearts. Hope to see you again soon!

Visitors are always welcome at the ranch. We ask that you contact us prior to your visit, to make sure someone will be able to introduce you to the horses.
Sincerely,

Deborah Derr, D.C.

HAY DRIVE!
Fundraising
It's that time of the year again!

We are down to our last four bales of grass hay for the year! We need to raise $14,000 for 81+ round bales of hay!

This winter is predicted to be long and hash, here in Montana so we are preparing to make sure that the horses have lots of food to keep them warm.

Normally through the winter months, 9 draft horses will go through two round bales per week=8 per month! During the summer months the horses will go through three round bales per month.

That's a lot of Hay!
This does not include the supplemental feed they receive as well!

Daisy T (Tia) from Oregon
Newest Rescue

horses
Daisy T was found on Craig's List for $1. Since she has been here we have uncovered more issues other than the scratches that her previous owner diagnosed. We have also found that she has Cushing's Disease and we have been treating her for the past three months.

Thanks to supporters, we have been able to treat Daisy with a special diet and she is coming along beautifully! The happier she feels the more she has been joining in with the herd and less frightened to approach people. Welcome home Daisy!

If you would like to sponsor Daisy and help with her costs please contact us via email.

Horse Trailer!
Fundraising

Big Horse means Big Feet!. We are so excited as we have raised $4000 already for a horse trailer and need to raise $3000 more! Once we have a new trailer we will be taking the horses two by two, to the Montana State University Farrier School in Bozeman to have their feet worked on!

It has been difficult, as most of the elder horses are not able to hold their weight up on three legs due to old injuries and aging. Dr. Deb has been able to trim most of them while they are laying down.
Being able to take the horses to the school will make things easier as they have special stocks made for the larger horse breeds.

New Fencing!
Fundraising
horses
We were blessed to have a foundation cover the costs for this beautiful and sturdy fence work for the horses.

Due to the size of the draft horses & the amount of heat generated by rubbing on items... we have been replacing the wire fencing every spring! Since the new fence has been up the horses have not messed with it at all! So we are raising funds to do the same thing with one of our pasture fence lines.

United In Light is home to the draft horse sanctuary in Livingston, Montana. We are fully funded by the public as a 501c3  non-profit. Due to the expense of care toward these large breeds and rescuing the elder horses, United In Light stands as a one of a kind in the Nation. Thanks to you!
