Are you or someone you know an immigrant who is worried about your legal status here in the United States? Are you ALSO a victim of Domestic or Sexual Violence?
If you answered yes to both questions, please come to one of the free clinics offered by us. Virginia Poverty Law Center and the Challa Law Offices will have attorneys, domestic and sexual violence advocates and other volunteers available to help you determine whether you are eligible to apply for a U Visa or VAWA Self-Petition.*

Office of Foreign Labor Certification Launches LCA Mailbox for LCA Policy Guidance and Questions
The OFLC has announced that it has established a mailbox for questions regarding LCA policies for those who seek policy guidance on the LCA. The employers filing H-1B LCA should make a note of the following three different email addresses to address different types of questions:
· LCA.Regulation@dol.gov. Questions on LCA policies and guidance. The answers will be published in the form of FAQs.
· LCA.Chicago@dol.gov. All general inquiries regarding the H-1B program to the Chicago National Processing Center.
· OFLC.Portal@dol.gov. For questions on iCERT technical issues |

USCIS Announces Green Card Redesign
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has redesigned the Permanent Resident Card - commonly known as the "Green Card" - to incorporate several major new security features. USCIS also stated that it is issuing new cards. The new Green Card is the latest advance in USCIS' ongoing efforts to deter immigration fraud. According to USCIS, state-of-the-art technology incorporated into the new card prevents counterfeiting, obstructs tampering, and facilitates quick and accurate authentication. UNITED STATES - June Visa Bulletin Shows Modest EB-3 Priority Date Advancements for Most Countries The Department of State has released the June Visa Bulletin, its projection of immigrant visa availability for the coming month. Next month, there will be modest advancements in priority date cut-offs for the third employment-based preference category (EB-3) for professionals and skilled workers. In June 2010, priority date cut-offs for the employment-based immigrant categories will be as follows: EB-1 Current for all countries. EB-2 China - November 22, 2005. India - February 1, 2005. All other countries - current. E-3 Professionals and Skilled Workers China - June 22, 2003. India - October 22, 2001. Mexico - Unavailable. All other countries - June 22, 2003. EB-3 Other Workers Mexico - Unavailable. All other countries - June 1, 2001. EB-5 Current for all subcategories and countries. |
