For centuries we have understood that color affects our mood. Spiritual leaders have come to embrace color and how it helps guide meditation. Retailers spend enormous amounts of money to insure that the colors they use encourage you to behave in a way that will stimulate sales.  It's no coincidence we report feeling "blue", or being so mad we're seeing "red", or are simply "green" with envy.

 

 

We all know that color in our homes and places of business has a deep effect on how we feel. I have always enjoyed adding color to our work and my customer's lives. It may be a simple splash of accent color in that art niche, or perhaps asubtle shift in value, properly placed, that suddenly makes the "bit too narrow" room feel just right. Sometimes the bold decision to use the colors you have always loved will claim the room, the office, the window seat or the foyer, that before just didn't seem to hold it's own when it was adrift in a sea of off-white.
 
I can't remember a customer who wasn't, in the end, pleased with the color decisions we have made together. At Jacobsen Brothers Painting we like to take the time to apply samples and then encourage our customers to spend some time living with them. This can often make all the difference between just ok and terrific choices.
