halloween Happy New Year!

My New Year's Resolution this year is to make no resolutions.  Statistics show that, by February, 90% of people who have made New Year's Resolutions have given them up and I don't want to be a statistic.  So, for this year, I am resolved.  I stand firm in the belief that this is MY YEAR!  It is a year that will be marked by joy, happiness, success, and endless possibilities.  This can be YOUR YEAR--if you choose to make the resolve!

Resolve to Name It
Set your eyes on where you are going vs. where you are at.  Write down your goal and see yourself achieving it.  What does it look like?  What does it feel like?  Who is there with you when you achieve it?    After I write down a goal, I tell people what I am doing.  It helps me to internalize the goal and it also helps with accountability.   For yourself and for your team, set it high and go for it.  Name that vision, keep laser focus and watch things fall into place.

Resolve to Keep the Faith
Once you name your vision, yes, there may be things that "pop" up that could distract, discourage, or detract from laser focus.  Keep the faith!  What I loved about watching George Foreman fight was that, no matter what, he kept going.  A slug to the left side, George kept coming.  A slug to the right side, George kept coming.  A hit here, a hit there...George kept coming.   He kept coming until, at the age of 45, he defied all the odds and became the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion (for the second time - 20 years after his first championship).   No matter what hits you take, keep coming, and keep the faith.

Resolve to Succeed
What has kept you from writing down and naming the vision you wish to achieve?    Have you been taking "hits" that are keeping you from moving forward?   Take out a sheet of paper and write down three things that have been obstacles to you in achieving goals that you have set.

Have them written down?  Take that sheet of paper, wad it up in a ball and throw it away.  Shred it, burn it, and dispose of it in a forceful, champion like manner!  Those obstacles are now gone!

You have control of your future.  You make your destiny!  You can do it because you are a champion and a positive doer!

Now take another sheet of paper and write the word success on it.  Write it big!  Take up the whole sheet of paper and write it big, dark and large.

Got it?  Now, hold that piece of paper over your head and scream:

"SUCCESS IS IN MY HANDS!"

Success is in your hands - no one else's.  You just have to have the resolve to make it so.

For this year, you don't need to have a long list of things about yourself you want to change, named "New Year's Resolutions."     All you need is a vision of where you want to go and the resolve to make it so.   This is YOUR year.  It is my year!  Name it, keep the faith and remember that success is in YOUR hands.

Keep Leading, Laughing, and Connecting,
Chip

Panda

A panda bear walks into a bar and orders a sandwich. The waiter brings him the sandwich. The panda bear eats it, pulls out a pistol, kills the waiter, and gets up and starts to walk out.

The bartender yells for him to stop. The panda bear asks, "What do you want?" The bartender replies, "First you come in here, order food, kill my waiter, then try to go without paying for your food."

The panda bear turns around and says, "Hey! I'm a Panda. Look it up!" The bartender goes into the back room and looks up panda bear in the encyclopedia, which read: "Panda: a bear-like marsupial originating in Asian regions. Known largely for it's stark black and white coloring. Eats shoots and leaves.
