March, 2008 Vol 2, Issue 3 - E-newsletter for IABC T&T Members

From the President:

Judette
Congratulations to us all!
It's great to be recognised by your peers, so forgive us for jumping around with joy!
Two weeks ago, the IABC T&T Board learned that our chapter had been recognised with a
Certificate of Excellence for our work during the 2007-2008 term. Hard to believe that last year was our inaugural year, a 12-month period in which we built our website and blog, hosted a one-day workshop for students, grew our membership by over 300%, and hosted a series of dynamic professional programmes.
 IABC T&T did not enter the Chapter Awards;
the recognition came unsolicited from the
international board who felt that we had "done good''!
But guess what? There's no slowing us down.
We've got a lot to feel proud of over the next two months. From the debut of our first podcast on public speaking to the new functionalities of our website (read on to find out about myiabctt.com) and our upcoming professional development session at the new jazz restaurant on the Avenue, we have been working overtime to ensure we provide the connections, content and credibility for you to excel in your careers.
Thanks to all the volunteers who gave so much to the IABC T&T during the past year and we welcome those who would like to ensure that we sweep the Chapter Awards in 2009.

Best
Judette Coward-Puglisi
Founder & President 2007-2008

IABC T&T welcomes Vicki Olton

Barbados flag
We've never singled out a new member in our welcome message headline but our newest member, Vicki Olton, requires special mention.
Vicki is from Barbados and her membership makes IABC T&T inch closer towards having a regional base. Vicki is the marketing consultant at Effective Marketing Solutions. We also roll out our welcome mat to Sheelgah Besson, Managing Director of Creative Directions; Patrice Logan of AIC; and Stacey Harris, Communications Officer of the Central Bank.
These members took advantage of the US$40.00 membership discount during IABC's worldwide membership month.
