Report on Impact of Repealing the ACA on Children's Health

NACHRI and N.A.C.H.

Earlier this year the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and a ruling on the law is expected to be handed down in June of this year. If the Court determines that the individual requirement to purchase health insurance is unconstitutional and not severable from the remaining provisions in the ACA, the health reform law, in its entirety, will be struck down. The Children's Hospital Association prepared an analysis that evaluates the implications of rolling back provisions of the ACA that have already been implemented as well as halting the implementation of all future changes under the law. Help Raising Special Kids Make a Difference

Girl with flowerTwila discovered Raising Special Kids while taking a class on advocacy.

"We have used many of the services to help us with our daughter: special education consultation, advocacy training, and guidance in locating resources-which can be difficult to find in rural areas like ours," said Twila. "When we received a diagnosis, all our expectations for the future were turned upside down. But learning more about our daughters' disability has been so helpful for our family.

Quote of the Week

"You helped me to understand how to interact with parents appropriately and the importance of supporting them and their child.  I have a better idea of how parents feel and the frustrations they deal with on a daily basis.  I'll never truly be able to understand what parents go through, but I think it's important as an educator to have open communication and work together as a team."
