Thank you to everyone who advocated so diligently on behalf of children and brought this issue to the attention of the Governor and the public. Great advocacy includes follow up: responding to important decisions and actions after they've been made. The Governor has vetoed SB1593 (which would have would permitted corporations to avoid requirements put in place by the state of Arizona to protect consumers).
The Governor's veto is a positive step for families of children with special health care needs. It retains protection under Arizona's insurance mandates requiring coverage for specific services. Raising Special Kids is grateful that the governor has taken this important step to support families.
