This is an update from me and The Council of 12, including some insights on how we can use these next several weeks to set in motion a brand new way to create when in crisis.

Today, in this monthly ezine, The Council wants me to:

Steps to Take Now

The Council of 12 reminds us of the unique opportunity we have at the start of this pivotal year. The year 2009 is to be a time of great reconfiguration. Each of us will see this played out in our personal lives and on the world stage.

It's useful for us to remember that there is a group energy of positive change underway. This is especially helpful to consider during a time when we as individuals can feel alone and in chaos as our known world becomes more shaky by the day.

We, as lightworkers, play an integral role in humanity's group transformation, and we are also impacted by changes being forged on the group level. In many cases, the long term impact of our group transformational energy won't be quantifiable for quite a while.

One of the most challenging aspects of being alive during this window into 2012 is that we are being asked --- as a species --- to drop old unworkable structures and come up with brand new ones, without having a roadmap or guarantees. We are being asked --- really more like nudged by our own inner spiritual guidance --- to rethink who we are and to trust more deeply in spirit than we ever thought possible.

What does this mean in pratical terms?

Unlike some other new year starts of the recent past, this one offers possibilities for substantive changes.

These changes involve more than surface band-aids. They go to the core of what it means to be a human being alive today, interacting with other humans and with nature on a relatively small planet.

These changes are becoming possible because of the shift in consciousness. This is the awakening that each of us has incarnated to witness, experience, and create.

A group energy of complacency, existing for quite a while now on our planet, has evolved into a group energy with a serious questioning of the status quo and a waking up to many untruths and manipulations.

January 20

On January 20, the world's eyes will focus on America as Barack Obama is inagurated as president. More than any other modern day changeover in government, this one has the world's attention. America and Americans have an opportunity to set an example for positive changes and to move into a new type of leadership role.

Each of us, regardless of what country we live in, can play a supportive and empowered role. One way to do this is to consciously hold the energetic space for a positive, peaceful, and successful changeover in the U.S. government.

We can do this through our intent, our prayers, and by holding this general supportive vision. We can include in our vision and prayers a successful launching of new approaches that will help America and our world with needed reconfiguration.

To be supportive of good has nothing to do with partisan politics. To live in a truly enlightened society, humans will need to move beyond the pettiness of partisan maneuvering.

What else can we as individuals do?

We can strive to create and maintain a sense of balance in our lives. As part of that, we can develop more tolerance and patience, two qualities that will be instrumental in our successful navigation of the shift.

The more patient we can learn to be with ourselves and with others, the less likely we are to demand too much, too soon.

Anything really new --- especially something involving a radically new approach --- will need some time to develop and succeed. Consider this as Obama takes office later this month.

Any new U.S. leadership will need some time to sort through the maze of broken systems and to come up with workable solutions. This means we want to avoid unrealistic expectations, and to allow for a fluid pace and unfolding of needed changes. After all, we won't be able to successfully dismantle our outmoded systems with a linear rigid approach. New approaches, allowing for fluidity and wild card solutions, must be found.

Divine Changemakers

Also, we need to remember our role as Divine Changemakers. To be really empowered in these times will require more conscious awareness, more responsible personal action, and being more vocal about changes we see are needed. It won't be enough to simply demand that our governments fix things.

We don't want to give our power away like that in this next phase. Instead, we want to take back our power, remembering that we are Divine. We have a voice, and we can use that voice and our intuitively guided reason to affect change on a global basis.

How do we use our "voice"?

First, we become more mindful of our inner self-talk and what we say out loud to express our hopes, dreams, wishes and fears. We monitor fear-based language, and if we find ourselves caught up in worry or fear, we shift our thoughts to something constructive. We are mindful of the harmful consequences of complaining about tough times, and of gossiping about the misfortunes of others. We remember that our point of power is in our control over how we respond to life.

Second, we express ourselves and our "Light" by our actions in the world. Sometimes, this may mean letting political and corporate leaders know our opinions. At other times, we use our "voice" as consumers, purchasing products made with integrity and with harm to none. And oftentimes, we simply express kindness, offering a smile or encouraging word simply because we can.

Third, we strengthen our "voice" through our ongoing personal transformation process, which facilitates a deeper connection with spirit. As part of this, we reach out and connect with others on the path of spiritual awakening, recognizing the importance of community.

One of the purposes of opening The Council's group channeling evenings (described more in the workshops section below) to a worldwide audience was to help create a connected community of lightworkers across the globe.

These are just a few of the ways we can move forward with more success and joy in this next phase. More ideas will be explored in coming articles.

About our new in-person/teleclass format:
In December 2008 we launched a brand new format for these evenings, holding the very first worldwide channeling. The evening included a live call-in portion and 2 audio recordings. Additional evenings (see list above) like this are planned for 2009, and you are welcome to join us!

Whether you come in person and participate on-site or connect with us live via telephone and audio recordings, you will have an expanded way to connect with The Council's energies and messages.

In December, for example, we had a room-full of people on-site joined by callers from virtually every continent.

Our new format will allow you to connect with us live from anywhere in the world. Anyone who can dial a U.S. telephone number can register to participate with us.

Signups can also receive audio mp3 recordings of our evening's live call-in portion and guided meditative journey process. That means you can participate and benefit even if you are unable to attend the live conferene call.

For those who have attended, you can still benefit long after our channeling when you hear and work with The Council's healing energies and guided process.

Note: the format for the channelings is new and evolving. Once the trial runs of the new teleclass live call-in format have been completed, there likely will be some changes in how these evenings are configured and priced. For right now, however, the workshop fee (other than Wesak) is $25. This is required in advance for all attending on-site, and is appreciated on a donation basis for all long distance off-site attendees. Whether you sign up for on-site or long distance, you can access the mp3 audio recordings. We record the first hour with live callers, and the last hour with The Council's guided meditative journey process. Receiving these audio recordings extends and expands your experience and the many benefits you will receive from participating.

General background on the channelings:

We gather together to add our light to the world scene, and to receive from spirit the energetic fuel for our next steps. The Council of 12 works with each person participating--throughout the entire time we gather in the Los Angeles area--providing spiritual openings, personal healing, and positive energetic momentum. This energetic support is often felt for a number of days before our channeling evening, and for a long while afterwards too.

These evenings are an opportunity to focus on clearing out what we don't want to take into the next phase, and to energize our intentions for creating new opportunities. We want to be positioned positively for what's coming next. These evenings with The Council of 12 help us to do that.

In our group channeling evenings, we have a series of guided processes facilitated by The Council. The evening typically includes some messages from The Council, along with a guided meditative journey.

They assist us in refocusing, connecting with a passion for being here, and gaining confidence in our ability to succeed with what we came to accomplish. The evenings are also an opportunity to connect with other lightworkers, helping us to build a sense of community. In our world peace process, facilitated by The Council, we join with lightworkers worldwide to send positive healing energies to the Earth, and to people all over the planet.

This is the first part of a two-part experiential workshop series, designed to lay the foundation for working with DNA intuitive healing and development of intuitive knowing. This class gives you the basics of DNA intuitive healing.

In part 1, you will learn to expand your connections with the nonphysical and discover how to communicate with "the other side." Another focus of this class is to develop a tangible relationship with the unseen, including nonphysical teachers and guides. Students develop a deepening discernment and understanding of symbols and other communications often used by spirit. Students also learn to work with and communicate with orbs!

About the Wesak:

An annual celebration with Selacia and The Council of 12. Attendance in 2009 can be either in person (limited seating) or long distance via teleclass live call-in and audio recordings. Experience The Council of 12's wisdom and healing energies as they lead you in a series of heart-opening energetic processes and a potent channeled guided meditative journey to the sacred Wesak Valley of Tibet. During this special evening, we will connect with the Masters who have achieved enlightenment. The Wesak is a time when we celebrate the natural Buddha nature of humanity, and receive Wesak blessings for our own enlightenment.

This is the first year we have offered the Wesak as a worldwide channeling. This will allow a limited number of people to attend on site, and others to join during the first hour via a live call-in teleclass.

All signups will have access to audio recordings of both the first hour (with live call-in teleclass), and the last hour (with The Council's guided journey to the Wesak Valley with the Masters).
