Dec. 16: Residence halls close for winter break at 7 p.m. 

Dec. 17: Commencement

Dec. 20: Fall semester grades posted in GoWMU late in the day

Dec. 26-Jan 2, 2012: WMU closed (except for essential services) 

Dec: 27: Little Caesars Pizza Bowl at Ford Field: WMU Broncos vs. Purdue Boilermakers

Jan. 3: WMU offices re-open

Jan. 5-11: One-stop shop open  

Jan. 7. Residence halls re-open at 10 a.m.

Jan. 9: Spring semester classes begin at 8:00 a.m. Tuition due

Jan. 13: Drop/add ends; last day for 100% refund 

Jan. 16: MLK Jr. Day - no classes. WMU offices closed

Jan. 18: $100 late add fee begins

Jan. 19: Last day for 90% refund for complete withdrawal

Jan. 23: Last day for 50% refund for partial withdrawal

Looking ahead 

Feb. 6: Last day for 50% refund for complete withdrawal

Feb. 10-12: Buster's Family Weekend Adventure #3

Feb. 17-19: Buster's Family Weekend Adventure #4  and Little Sibs Weekend

March 2: Spirit day (no classes)  

Last day for 25% refund for complete withdrawal 

March 5-11: Spring break

March 12: Classes resume

March 19: Last day to withdraw from classes 

April  23-27: Final Exams Week

April 27: Residence halls close at 7 p.m.

May 1: Spring semester grades posted late in the day

Things to know... 

The residence halls close at 7 p.m. this Friday. Students are encouraged to take home anything they may need during break.  Students involved with the Commencement ceremonies on Saturday should talk with their hall directors.to make arrangements to stay until Saturday.

The Office of Parent and Family Programs will close for the holiday break on Wednesday, Dec. 20 and re-open on Monday, Jan. 9. 2012.

Fall semester grades will be posted on Tuesday, Dec. 20 and should be available for viewing in the late afternoon or early evening through GoWMU and through authorized user access. Next Monday, I will be sending you suggestions that may be helpful when discussing the semester (and grades) with your student.

Join your WMU Family on Dec. 27 in Detroit for the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.  The Bowl Bash pre-game event will take place from noon - 3 p.m. and the Broncos take on the Purdue Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. in Ford Field. WMU parents and family members can get $35 tickets by entering the promotion code WMUPARENTS. The WMU student price is $15, maximum of four tickets.  See you in Detroit!!
