Watch Your Paycheck
by Don Wedding, UT-AAUP Executive Board
Earlier this year VP David Dabney made organizational and personnel changes in the UT Payroll Department. After the changes, there were a number of complaints during the summer concerning the accuracy of paychecks and the number of paychecks. Some of these complaints were reported in UT-AAUP newsletters.
Additional paycheck complaints for the Fall have now been reported to the UT-AAUP. These include both under-pays and over-pays. Under-pays have been as much as $1000. One over-pay was for $35,000. This was a direct deposit into the UT employee's bank account and was corrected after the employee reported it to UT Payroll.
Parking fee payments are still a problem. A number of UT-AAUP faculty paid $103 last year and again this year because they were not listed as AAUP faculty, an over payment of $47. We are compiling a list of these faculty in order to request refunds of $47 or more. Please email Mary Jane Erard (aaup@utaaup.com)---ONLY if you overpaid by $47 or more. Please no phone calls.
The $58 listed on the UT parking website for AAUP members is still incorrect. The actual amount is $56 as stated in the AAUP-BOT collective bargaining agreements. Mr. Dabney said the $58 would be corrected. The UT-AAUP will not be seeking any $2 refunds. We suggest you email Mr. Dabney at: David.Dabney@utoledo.edu or call him at 419-530-8777 if you are entitled to a $2 refund. The listed Fax number for Mr. Dabney is 419-530-8778.
