Hearing Update
The November 22 hearing to consider UT-AAUP's request for an injunction to halt the implementation of the reorganization plan has been postponed and re-scheduled for December 2. As part of the UT-AAUP case, we intend to have Dr. Gary Rhoades, General Secretary of the National AAUP, testify. The attorneys for the Board of Trustees and the UT-AAUP came to an agreement that there would be no objections by the BOT to Dr. Rhoades' testimony, provided that the BOT attorneys had the opportunity to depose him in advance of the hearing. To accommodate this arrangement, the hearing was postponed. Dr. Rhoades' deposition has been completed and he will testify at the hearing. The hearing is scheduled to begin tomorrow, December 2 at 9am in the Lucas County Courthouse, 4th floor, before Judge Gary Cook. This is an open hearing and anyone can attend.
