Below is a link to a Toledo Free Press article "Live and learn" by Michael Miller, Editor in Chief of the Free Press.

The email exchange between UT President Lloyd Jacobs and UT Vice President Larry Burns is of interest.  Jacobs' "Live and learn" comment to the publisher of the Toledo Free Press is also of interest.

Although President Jacobs and VP Burns canceled the Free Press news conference at UT, Jacobs has had no problem with holding news conferences on campus related to  private businesses. Witness the UT hype over Xunlight. However, as stated in his email to VP Burns, Jacobs considered the scheduled Free Press news conference to be "risky". He and Burns also appear to have considered asking Toledo Mayor Mike Bell not to attend. However, Mayor Bell did attend although members of the Port Authority and the Regional Growth Partnership (RGP) did not show.

President Jacobs is a member of the Port Authority Board and the RGP Board along with other Toledo movers and shakers, some directly connected to the UT Board of Trustees. At the end of the day, it is about protecting the Toledo establishment network and not offending anyone, especially The Toledo Blade. Jacobs, Burns, and the UT Administration have a cozy relationship with The Blade.

More people need to "live & learn" about Jacobs and his UT Administrative team.

Dear University of Toledo Alumni Association:

Thank you for the recent notice that my alumni association membership is about to expire. While I greatly appreciate your services, I am not going to contribute to the association this year. I wanted to write to you and explain my reasons...
