Dear NSA-Virginians,

     If I could have one wish, it would be to treat each of you to a National Speaker's Association national event.  

     I'm standing in the main auditorium of NSA '11 as "Influence" covers the main-stage screens. I'm wishing I could record it all with my mind's eye and play it back at the next Chapter meeting: Speakers everywhere, laughter audible above Prince's "Let's Go Crazy." The energy, the sharing, the camaraderie--beyond compare. The hugs beyond counting. The smiles and memories that will last beyond this lifetime.

    But if you can't make it to a national event, one of this year's goals is to bring some National home to you. To share a taste of what NSA has to offer beyond the chapter level. This year's focus will be on helping members grow as speakers and expanding the "Spirit of Cavett." Did you know Cavett Robert founded NSA in 1972 at the age of 65? He was known as the "Enthusiastic Encourager" and believed that the pie is not only big enough for us each to have a piece, but that we can each bake a bigger pie!

   This year I want us to create a Chapter of support and networking. I want us to be one another's biggest fans and sources of referral. I already know NSA-VA rocks, but I want us to rock the world with our skills as speakers and our individual messages. Your NSA-VA Leadership team met in July, and we have some phenomenal ideas for the upcoming year. See you August 19!
