ABOUT MEMBERSHIP
If You Care about Them ~ Invite Them to NSA Virginia NOW!
Ever since joining NSA Virginia and then NSA national a few years ago, I've heard about the value that this organization brings to those wishing to grow their speaking business. Now after more than five years, I can tell you that it is not recommended, it is not advisable, it is essential. I only wish I had joined nine years ago when I first went into business!
I have found that--without fail--every single monthly chapter program has changed my business in some positive way, either affecting how I thought or changing what I did. As a result, I have revamped my business model and taken my practice to the next level, and I'm just getting started! If I miss a meeting, it's because I'm delivering a service to a client, probably one I got from my affiliation with NSA in some way.
Furthermore, I've been part of a number of professional associations, some good ones. But not one of them has the horsepower and helpful culture of NSA. Even more importantly, I have benefited from knowing and working with the local members, probably the greatest benefit of all, and we're still growing and learning from each other. I've taken training from three current members and look forward to learning from more of you; these include Debbie Bowie, Sandy Dumont, David Rourk, Will Turner, and Christine Walters. And I feel like I've just scratched the service of the local talent at our fingertips.
We are now in a special membership drive that is a rare opportunity for us and new members. I urge you to invite the people you care about to attend a meeting and get on board as soon as possible. By joining in May or June, they will get a pass on the initiation fee for NSA Virginia, and their dues will be waived for the rest of 2008. The only thing they have to do then is register, pay for and show up at the monthly programs. They will thank you for inviting them and list you as someone who made a difference in their lives. Their insights and businesses will grow, the chapter will prosper, and you will have done your part to keep us all growing and thriving as speakers and people.
