A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Your Board just made an exciting decision. We will be having a membership drive from April through June, and anyone who joins NSA during that time will have the one-time administration fee of $100 waived, as well as the dues for the rest of the year (through December 31, 2008). There's more: the member who brings in the most new members during that time frame will have the 2009 membership dues waived.
We have exciting programs coming up, including our national President, Mark LeBlanc whose specialty is small business entrepreneurs. Sounds like us! Don't miss it.
Sandy

Meet Mark LeBlanc,
President of National Speakers Association .
Find out what you need to know and what you need to do, when it's up to YOU to make it all work. Join us for this special program with Mark LeBlanc, the President of the National Speakers Association.
Mark joined NSA in 1983, at the ripe old age of 22, and is now considered a seasoned veteran by many, and one of the few people that NSA professionals and legends turn to, for business advice and counsel.
He runs Small Business Success, and is the Author of the little book, Growing Your Business! and the soon-to-be, released book, Growing Your Business When YOU Are The Business, later this year.
LeBlanc will share keen insights, observations, and sound strategies that will make or break your speaking career. If you thought you had it all together, and yet your calendar isn't where you want it to be, then this is your don't miss meeting.
You will discover:
1. how to put more money in your pocket,
2. how to position yourself for higher fees,
3. how to create a marketing plan that gets your booked, and
4. how to set up a system for staying focused on a daily basis.
Mark will share several of his turning points, as well as, some of his painful mistakes. He is one speaker you can listen to over and over again, and keep learning new things all the time.
He speaks to small business groups, and professional associations of all types, and is attracting the attention of corporate sales groups who want their people to think more like a business owner, than a salesperson. He is the creator of the Achievers' Circle weekend program, that is highly-regarded as the anti-bootcamp experience.

HOT-NEW HI-TECH MARKETING TO REACH AND ENGAGE CONSUMERS NSA members may want to know about the new marketing technologies that are integrating the real world with cyberspace, driving changes in consumer expectations and their buying patterns. This creates opportunities for branding and sales where no one has gone before. It crosses all sorts of entertainment, lifestyle and shopping options.
Nationally recognized expert Liz Crawford, Iconoculture Vice President and Consumer Strategist for Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail Brands, will speak to The Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Marketing Association luncheon meeting on Thursday, April 10, 2008. Ms. Crawford will speak about how technology is changing the way consumers shop and the way companies reach and build relationships with them.
Ms. Crawford's presentation will focus on emerging marketing technology that is driving change in consumer expectations and buying patterns. According to Ms. Crawford, "Consumers' lives are now seamlessly integrating the real world with cyberspace. This creates ubiquitous, interactive touch points, which are opportunities for branding and sales across industries."
Businesses can now connect with their customers in highly creative and rich media environments that are much more interactive, immediate and actionable. Site-to-store services, social networks, virtual and location-based digital touch points and "Fourth Screen" technology are all shaping how we will buy in the future.
Liz will tell you about strategies and techniques to embrace and succeed in these emerging technologies. A nationally recognized expert, Liz has contributed her perspective and analysis to publications like CBSMarketWatch, National Review Online, and Everything Online Business Book. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Emory University's Goizueta Business School and New York University's Stern MBA program.
