Whatever Happened to Pat Moore?

Update on former chapter president Pat Moore from Gloria Thomas

Pat Moore, 2000-01 President of VSA (now NSA-VA), shares her personal story, "Paving the Road from Nana to Mamma," in the newly released, Chicken Soup for the Working Mom's Soul.

In 2001, while still Chapter President, Pat and her husband Don suddenly became parents of their two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter, Anna.  Anna's father was killed in an accident, and her mother (Pat's daughter) was not capable of properly caring for her.

As a result of this sudden shift in priorities, Pat made the tough decision to change her focus from working to build her business to raising her granddaughter. Anna is now almost 9 and Pat finds the rewards in this new role are immeasurable. In her story, she quotes Maya Angelou, "If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded."
