SEASONS GREETINGS!
2008 was a wonderful year for dre.dance (and oh yeah, OBAMAAAAAAAAAAAA).
We were supported by residencies at Joyce SoHo,
Tribeca Performing Arts Center and Wichita State University.
We premiered TWO new evening-length
works, taught classes, gave talk backs,
were featured in press articles and
had an all around good time.
ONTO 2009!!!

We've been developing our evening-length work, beyond.words   for the last year and a half.  It's been an educational and inspirational experience.

Joyce SoHo in NYC and Wichita State University have
supported the work with generous residencies, and WSU, with the world-premiere of a collaborative
university version of the piece.
WSU students and faculty danced
alongside dre.dance company
members for a unique version
of our work in progress.

Outreach and advocacy have become important components to beyond.words. We've learned so much from movement workshops we've conducted with children with autism and continue to welcome the enthusiastic and emotional support of their families.
Click here to read an article, watch video and see pictures on the Heartspring Center's website about our visits to their school and work with their beautiful children.

dre.dance will be presenting a 15 minute excerpt of beyond.words
at Joyce SoHo for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
This is a shared performance with other Joyce SoHo Artists-in-Residence and will take place January 10/11 at 11am.  APAP is a wonderful opportunity to showcase work to performing arts presenters from across the country.

New York Premiere
'beyond.words'
dre.dance will premiere beyond.words April 2-4, 2009
at Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City.
April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day, and dre.dance is teaming up with Autism Speaks to celebrate the day in a unique and special way.  We couldn't be more thrilled for the support of Autism Speaks, the Brooklyn Autism Center and Heartspring in Wichita, Kansas.
Watch our site, www.dredance.com, for ticketing details as the premiere approaches.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Without you, dre.dance is just a few folks dancing for themselves.
And without you, we will cease to be.

dre.dance is dependent on your tax-deductible donations.
We have the amazing fortune of being represented by
IMG Artists and they are currently booking a 2009/2010 tour of beyond.words.  However, we will not be able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity without having the financial stability to sustain it.
