Tower at Ryan Park's Renovations

The Tower at Ryan Park is undergoing a facelift in downtown.  You may have noticed the test samples of paint on the exterior while you were passing by recently.  Colors were chosen and now the entire facade has been painted.  But what you cannot see when driving or walking by is that the interior has gotten some attention as well.  The media room is getting a new Tower at Ryan Parktelevision and speakers for use by tenants.  Patio furniture for the rooftop decks is getting replaced, as well as the furniture in the common rooftop kitchen.  The flooring in the laundry room is being replaced also.  The hallways are getting new lighting, and a new, efficient hallway air conditioning system is getting replaced.  The parking lot is slated to get a fresh sealcoat with new striping and the final phase will be a fresh new landscaping for the exterior of the unit.  Owners and management of the Tower at Ryan Park all hope that this will keep the Tower as our premier multi-family development in downtown.  For more information see their website at www.thetoweronryanpark.com or call 432-8879.

St. Louis Lofts - Special Financing Incentive
St. Louis Lofts-Exterior

Everyone knows that the economy has been difficult both locally and nationally, and loans for home purchases of any kind have been difficult to obtain even with credit worthy buyers.  Despite the challenging national economy, the local Mobile economy is expected to grow over the next several years, and Austal, adjacent to downtown Mobile, is a thriving example.  The St. Louis Lofts developer, Renaissance LLC, was able to refinance a construction loan in a way that substantially lowered his interest rate and gave him the flexibility to provide owner financing.  Renaissance LLC has created a new financing program to help sell these great condominiums. The owner-financing is offering very competitive rates that are generally below market and offer reasonable loan terms.  In fact, units have already sold using this program.  In addition to competitive rates, a portion of each monthly payment will be credited towards the buyer's closing costs when the owner financing loan is refinanced.  The St. Louis Lofts offers one of the best values in terms of downtown housing.  These quiet, peaceful condos are convenient to all of the downtown amenities but also offer great access with its covered, secure parking.

For more info on units or this unique financing mechanism, please contact Kathy Webster or Amanda Wilkins at (251) 342-3200.

Two Downtown Streets

Now Two-Way

The city of Mobile's traffic engineering department has completed the conversion of Washington Avenue from Government north to Congress streets from one-way to two-way. The work on St. Francis Street from Royal Street to Springhill Avenue should be finished tomorrow.

The conversion is the second phase (Royal and St. Louis streets were phase one) of a major project to convert many of downtown's streets to two-way traffic. Though it may take a few days of adjustment, the overall impact of such conversions is a positive development. Two-way streets generally are more pedestrian friendly, which encourages retail and residential development and makes our downtown a more livable, lively place!

World Premier of Minced!

An original radio play by Danielle Juzan

"Minced!" blends old-timey radio cliffhangers with today's Food TV, with hilarious results. Voice actors, live sound effects, and plenty of audience participation will create a unique evening of fun, while Chip Herrington's Jazz Quartet performs between "episodes." The cast includes well-known local performers and TV celebrities, and "Minced!" will be recorded for future broadcast on Catt's Radio Avalon (92-ZEW).

There will be a Cinco de Mayo reception to follow (South of the Border food and beverage) across the street in Rollin's Deli. All proceeds benefit the Crescent Theater Film Society.

Tickets are $50. Contact Carol Hunter at [email protected]

or 251-434-8498 for reservations or more information.
