At The Village Chapel our desire is to live the Word of God through Worship, Outreach, Relationships, and Discipleship. We believe that if we focus on Worshiping God in Spirit and Truth that God will present opportunities for us to reach out to those who need Jesus, grow in our relationships with one another, and go deeper in our walk with Christ as Disciples.

The Passionate Church
Titus 2:11-14

Paul shows us the heart of Christ in this passage. He lays out for us what a passionate church looks like. I see four things in this passage that we can take away from that.

A Passionate Church:
1. Been Changed by Grace; Everything starts with grace. If we have come to salvation through His grace then we haven't been changed. A person that has been changed is one that knows they were a sinner and that Christ's death on the cross changed that. A church full of these people will change their city for God.
2. Desires to be Discipled; It doesn't stop with grace but continues on with training in God's word. This discipleship teaches us to resist ungodliness and live self controlled lives. A passionate church seeks to teach and train the believers to live Godly lives.
3. Looking for His Return; We can't forget that Jesus is returning. We don't know when but we can be prepared. Part of this means that we don't fall in love with this earth and our possessions but it also means that we have an urgency to share our faith.
4. Zealous for His Good works; Christ has purchased us, is in the process of purifying us, and desires that we are passionate to do His work. A true mark of a passionate church is one that has zeal to do His good works. This is an outflow of the work that Jesus is doing in our hearts.

Every church should be on the journey towards this. As believers we need to review this and see where we are and set goals for where we want to go with God. If we need more purifying then ask God and He will do the work. If we want more zeal ask and He will fill you with it. His desire is that we are a passionate church filled with passionate people for His purpose.

We will be serving a traditonal Christmas dinner to over 25 families on Christmas Eve. We would like you to be a part of that. You can help out in several ways. You can adopt a family by purchasing Christmas gifts for the children, you can cook a side dish for the dinner, or you can come that evening and volunteer. Click on the link below to sign up.

This is a great outreach for the entire family. December 19th from m9-11am. Meet at Buena Vista and prepare to walk the neighborhood inviting people to our Christmas Eve Services by placing door hangers on each hours. I'ts Tons of Fun!!

Starting the Week of January 11th, we will begin Sermon Based Small Groups. The Chapel will provide each leader with material to lead. The group will meet every week. If you are interested in either being a Leader, a Host, or both, sign up on Sunday at the WELCOME TABLE!!!
FoodLeadership Luncheon
December 13th @ 12:30pm
We want to start 2010 ready for what the Lord has in store for the Village Chapel. Let's get re-focuses, ready, and encouraged. Put a stiky note on your dashboard, a poster on your fridge, a button on your remote and an "X" on your calendar. Whatever it takes!! If you volunteer in ANY area of ministry at the Village Chapel we would like you to come.

Please join us as often as you can for a time of prayer. We meet each Saturday morning at the church office. The women meet from 7:30-8:30 and the men meet from 8:30-9:30.
