Perhaps you've heard the marching band preparing for the big game on Sunday, or already felt hints of fall in the air (September is my favorite month in Colorado). Fall is in full swing at the University Center for the Arts!
Thanks to everyone who attended the reprise of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" last week. The production received so much positive feedback including this from one happy patron who attended the final show, "We managed to get the last two tickets and just loved the performance. What a creative production - we were abuzz with conversation all the way home - the set, the staging (more like choreography), the cast, the charming and hilarious interpretation - it was absolutely charming and engaging!!! Easy to see why the schedule was extended..." Don't miss more exciting theatre performances this fall including The Alchemist by Ben Jonson, opening later this month.
Music concerts start on September 9 with fourteen year old Yihan Chen, prodigy pianist and composer. And don't miss this semester's highlight organ concert performed by Joel Bacon on September 12. More details below.
Don't forget that most events at the UCA now have reserved seating, so be sure to purchase your tickets early for the best selection at www.csutix.com.
Meet Me at the UCA soon,

| UNIVERSITY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA WITH SPECIAL GUEST |
The University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Wes Kenney, with special guest Matthew Scheffelman, horn. The symphony plays the ground-breaking Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz, the quintessential 19th century Romantic period artist whose broad emotions and manic-depressive personality cuts across the music. CSU Horn Professor Matthew Scheffelman, who performs around the world as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, is featured on the Atterberg Horn Concerto, a delightful work by 20th century Swedish composer Kurt Atterberg. The evening also includes a work by American iconoclast Michael Daugherty whose music is cut from the fabric that is American pop culture. When & Where
