This weekend the University Center for the Arts bursting at the seams with events! See one or see them all, but don't miss it!
This is the last weekend to catch the current theatre production, "Six Characters In Search of an Author" by Luigi Pirandello.
Since spring seems finally to have sprung, it is good timing for the presentation of the Spring Dance Concert on Friday and Saturday night.
And finally, don't miss the powerful presentation of Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" when the University Symphony Orchestra and four CSU Choirs take stage for two performances this weekend.
Meet us over at the UCA soon!
Sincerely,
Marketing and Publicity Director, School of the Arts |

POWERFUL CONCERT FEATURING A LEGENDARY BERNSTEIN WORK |
Resolutions! A Combined Orchestral & Choral Concert.
The CSU Symphony Orchestra and four CSU Choirs command the stage when the School of the Arts presents Resolutions!, a monumental concert filled with statements and intensity. The high-impact, two-night run includes Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, a Jewish influenced work with uplifting Psalms from the Hebrew texts. Musically complex, the opening is considered one of the hardest choral passages ever written! The orchestra turns to the challenges of Gustav Mahler with his Symphony No. 1 "Titan", packing an emotional wallop ranging from the emergence of spring to a fiery inferno - the resolution is a sonic experience few composers can match. | "SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR" - LAST WEEKEND |
Six Characters In Search of an Author, by Luigi Pirandello and directed by Laura Jones.
In its millennium retrospective of the major literary influences contributing to our modern sensibilities, TIME Magazine named Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author the most significant play of the 20th Century! As a stage director tries to conduct a routine rehearsal with a company of actors and technicians, they are interrupted by the arrival of six characters insisting that their story - not the one on the boards - be shown and told to the audience. Not only was Pirandello one of the first writers to exaggerate the stereotypes of domestic drama by burdening them with such self-awareness, his seminal work explores the gaps between appearance and reality as well as form and content in an existential world where the tragic and comic coexist as points of view.
