If you haven't already, get those taxes e-filed tonight because you won't want to miss guest artist duo Hasse Borup, violin, and Mary Kathleen Ernst, piano in their Virtuoso Series Concert "Mainly Shatin" on Wednesday night.
 
The theatre program presents their final production of the school year. Six Characters In Search of an Author - A Comic Commentary on the Nature of Theatre: a rehearsed "unrehearsed" rehearsal - opens on Thursday
 
Other unique and exciting events in our upcoming schedule are the World Percussion Concert on Thursday evening and the Harp Ensemble next Monday night.
 
If you haven't had a chance to enjoy the two wonderful museums now open at the UCA, please do! The University Art Museum and Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising exhibits and events are free and open to the public.

THEATRE "SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR" OPENS THURSDAY
Six Characters in Search of an AuthorSix Characters In Search of an Author, by Luigi Pirandello and directed by Laura Jones. 
 
In its millennium retrospective of the major literary influences contributing to our modern sensibilities, TIME Magazine named Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author the most significant play of the 20th Century! As a stage director tries to conduct a routine rehearsal with a company of actors and technicians, they are interrupted by the arrival of six characters insisting that their story - not the one on the boards - be shown and told to the audience. Not only was Pirandello one of the first writers to exaggerate the stereotypes of domestic drama by burdening them with such self-awareness, his seminal work explores the gaps between appearance and reality as well as form and content in an existential world where the tragic and comic coexist as points of view. READ MORE, PRINT A POSTER

Faculty Chamber Faculty Chamber Music Concert. Under the baton of Wes Kenney, the evening features Jacques Ibert's Divertissement, performed by School of the Arts faculty. Silvana Santinelli, piano, joins the Faculty String Quartet - Ron Francois, violin; Leslie Stewart, violin; Margaret Miller, viola; and Barbara Thiem, cello - for a performance of Schumann's Piano Quartet, and the String Quartet with CSU faculty Michelle Stanley, flute, plays Mozart's Flute Quartet. A stunning and delightful program!

ENSEMBLE CONCERTS
World Percussion ConcertWorld Percussion Concert on Thursday Night. Join the CSU Steel Band for a fun and upbeat performance of the sounds of Trinidad and Tobago. Now in it's 10th year of existence, the ensemble was the first collegiate steel band in Colorado.  Also performing is the African Drum Ensemble, delivering a high energy performance inspired by the Ashanti tribe of Ghana. READ MORE, DOWNLOAD A POSTER
