Happy St. Patrick's Day - may the luck of the Irish be with you (and I'm Irish, so I can actually say that!)
This week is spring break, so no events at the UCA, but just you wait until we get back next week! There are two band concerts, one with a guest pianist and the second with a guest saxophonist. Also, three CSU Choirs join forces for a powerful presentation. Don't miss CSU's awesome instrumentalists and vocalists in action!
After the break enjoy several exciting theatre and dance performances including a magical production of Eurydice and a Tour Dance Company Showcase.
Another main event coming up at the University Center for the Arts is the opening of the University Art Museum with a ribbon cutting and opening reception on Thursday, April 2. Read all about the opening celebration events and exhibits in this weeks e-newsletter.
Please help spread the word about exciting performances at the UCA. Its easy! Download a poster and hang it up at work, or simply forward this e-mail to your friends. We appreciate it and look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Marketing and Publicity Director, School of the Arts |

| CSU THEATRE PRESENTS EURYDICE |
Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Kaily Anderson, is a modern reworking of the Greek myth by the same name.
In the original myth, while mourning the death of his wife Eurydice, Orpheus plays such beautiful music that he receives permission from the Gods to go to the underworld and bring her back.
A magic, whimsical story - a world of talking stones, raining elevators, and rooms made out of string, Eurydice is a play about what it is to love, to lose, and to find oneself along the way. Hardly new themes, Ruhl's open and honest approach to the work enlivens the tale, bringing truth and evoking pathos for the story's characters. "The first time I read the play, I was moved in an inexplicable way," remarks Anderson. "Ruhl has taken the original myth from Ovid's Metamorphosis and used it as a base point for her own quirky and wonderful story - I was quite taken with it."
