I welcome you to attend Much Ado About Nothing, the first production of Shakespeare on our University Theatre stage. This production will be performed by students who have recently completed my advanced acting topics class in the performance of Shakespeare.
British and brought up on a rich diet of the Royal Shakespeare Company whilst a student in Shakespeare's own home county - wonderful leafy Warwickshire - I have a specific passion for teaching and directing Shakespeare. This production promises a fun contemporary edge and flavor - set in California in the early post-war years of the 1940's - yet stays true to the musicality of the text and Shakespeare's particular genius for language, thought and humanity.
The production runs Wednesday, February 4th through Sunday, February 8th - don't miss out on all the fun! P lease be a part of our publicity team - forward this e-mail to a friend or print out a poster and hang it up at work or school. We appreciate your help!
Also, read in this edition of the e-newsletter about our Kennedy Center American Theatre Festival participation. We are proud of our talented students!
We look forward to seeing you,
Eric Prince

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING |
Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, directed by Eric Prince.
Sigh no more ladies, sigh no more. Men were deceivers ever, One foot in sea, and one on shore, To one thing constant never...
Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's most exciting and challenging comedies, especially for the wit and wonderful characterization of its two sparring lovers Benedick and Beatrice.
Colorado State University is fortunate to possess what is undoubtedly one of the best stages in the region for the presentation of Shakespeare. The intimacy and openness of our University Thrust Theatre, along with the excellence of its technical resources and the wizardry of our professional personnel, guarantees a rewarding as well as entertaining evening.
This production promises a fun contemporary edge and flavor, being set in California sometime in the early post-war years of the 1940's yet - as director Eric Prince is eager to qualify - staying true to the musicality of the text and Shakespeare's particular genius for language, thought and humanity.
