MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING |
Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, directed by Eric Prince.
Sigh no more ladies, sigh no more. Men were deceivers ever, One foot in sea, and one on shore, To one thing constant never...
Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's most exciting and challenging comedies, especially for the wit and wonderful characterization of its two sparring lovers Benedick and Beatrice.
At Colorado State University we are fortunate to possess what is undoubtedly one of the best stages in the region for the presentation of Shakespeare. The intimacy and openness of our University Thrust Theatre, along with the excellence of its technical resources and the wizardry of our professional personnel, guarantees a rewarding as well as entertaining evening. WATCH A SLIDE SHOW
This production promises a fun contemporary edge and flavor, being set in California sometime in the early post-war years of the 1940's yet - as director Eric Prince is eager to qualify - staying true to the musicality of the text and Shakespeare's particular genius for language, thought and humanity. First Annual Faculty Art Exhibition Opening
The Metals Guild at CSU and SOVA (the Student Organization for Visual Arts) present the opening reception for the 1st Annual Faculty Exhibition. The exhibition will feature work by the faculty and staff of the Department of Art at Colorado State University. Exhibition runs through February 28.
When & Where
The opening reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Hatton Gallery in the Visual Arts Building.
The CSU Metalsmithing Guild Lecture Series presents Guest Artist Tina Rath.
Ms. Rath's work investigates notions of materiality and the intersection of ethics and aesthetics. Using materials that are inherently luxurious and controversial as well as laden with cultural and historic value, Rath plays with the material's ability to seduce and intoxicate the senses. By using and exploiting their ability to captivate, she provokes questions of how and if one erases boundaries in the pursuit of beauty. Tina Rath is an Associate Professor at Maine College of Art and the Program Chair of the MECA Metalsmithing and Jewelry Department. Her artwork is widely exhibited both nationally and internationally. READ MORE
