Join us tonight for Hear the Light! - a superb band concert performed by the Wind Ensemble and the Symphonic Band, the internationally acclaimed piano-violin-clarinet trio, The Verdehr Trio, performs on Wednesday evening, and wrapping up this week is Friday's Choir Concert.

And don't forget next week's Grand Opening of the University Center for the Arts with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House on Thursday, October 16th. Review the full list of Grand Opening Weekend Events. At Thursday's opening we will honor the old Fort Collins High School tradition of singing the Fort Collins High School Alma Mater on the staircase landing - all FCHS Alumni are invited to sing, so please help us spread the word about this special day! INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS PERFORM IN VIRTUOSO SERIES CONCERT
Verdehr TrioThe popular Virtuoso Concert Series continues with premium performances.

Viruoso Series: Special Guest, the Verdehr Trio - Violin, Clarinet & Piano. For thirty years the Verdehr Trio has molded and defined the personality of the violin-clarinet-piano trio. This fantastic group has performed throughout the world and presents a delightful program including Mozart's Dance Suite - jazzy with "licks" for each instrument with a gorgeous blues-like second movement, and a rockish last movement; Rock Valley Trio by Lee Hoiby, a beautiful, romantic 19th century piece; and a trio of dances by Stefan Freund that are clever and cute - in the very best sense of the word - and well-loved by audiences. This concert promised to be a fantastic treat!

THE BECKETT PROJECT
Beckett ProjectWith The Beckett Project, Dr. Laura Jones and her theatre colleagues at CSU and Bas Bleu Theatre Company use selected works by Nobel Prize-winning author Samuel Beckett to conduct creative research trials on the emotive affect of the juxtaposition of light and dark onstage. Dr. Jones pairs Rough for Theatre II with Play and A Piece of Monologue with her own adaptation of Ill Seen Ill Said. Plus, Wendy Ishii, Bas Bleu's artistic director, will be reprising her signature role as Winnie (pictured) in the internationally critically-acclaimed CSU/Bas Bleu collaboration Happy Days - quintessentially Beckett - frightening yet absurdly funny. To complete the project, audiences share their own reactions and reflections through blogs, post-show talk-backs, and panel discussions. READ MORE (PDF)
