TOUR DANCE CO. PERFORMS IN MEXICO
Tour Dance Company & Chung-Fu ChangAssistant Professor Chung-Fu Chang and five student members of the Tour Dance Company he directs were invited to showcase their performance and choreography at the International Festival of Contemporary Dance Avant Garde Mexico in Merida Yucatan, Mexico on May 24 and 25. The appearance augmented the dance program's international reputation and provided students with an incredible experience to further their careers in dance. Read more (PDF)
ART DEPT. RECEIVES MANY ACCOLADES

Terrace View by Tom LundbergThe Department of Art is proud of the many accomplishments of its talented faculty, who continue to contribute to the visual arts on a national and international level through group, solo, juried and invited exhibitions and scholarly publications and presentations. During 2007 alone, the art faculty participated in 86 regional, national, and international exhibitions, and published 16 papers, presentations, and articles, along with 1 book under review. TRANSITIONS FOR MUSIC FACULTY
CSU School of the ArtsThe Music Department is saying farewell to Associate Band Director Chad Nicholson who has accepted a position as director of bands at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne beginning in the fall.
 
Soprano and author Cynthia Vaughn is transitioning from full-time academia to guest CSU faculty as she pursues her passion for travel, writing, mentoring, and performing new collaborative works. She will open Magnolia Music Studio in Old Town in August, and her summer travel includes vocal literature workshops in Charlotte, North Carolina and masterclasses and recitals in Urbino, Italy. 
 
We wish Chad and Cynthia both the very best and thank them for all of their hard work in developing CSU's band and vocal programs!
PHASE III OPENS IN SEPTEMBER!
New Organ Recital Hall in the UCAYou've probably already visited the incredible performance spaces that are currently open in the University Center for the Arts - Griffin Concert Hall and University and Studio Theatres - and this fall, we invite you to join us for the opening of the entire building! The completed UCA includes the new University Art Museum, University Dance Theatre, Recital Hall that is the new home of CSU's Casavant Pipe Organ, clinic space for the Music Therapy program and the Center for Biomedical Research in Music, rehearsal chambers, classrooms, administrative offices, and a museum for the University's Historic Costume and Textile Museum. Susannah gives a glimpse into small town Tennessee as young Susannah is falsely accused of wanton behavior by the church elders and their wives. The gossip escalates when a charismatic preacher tries to save her soul.
