| MFA STUDENTS DISPLAY WORK |
See works by Master of Fine Art candidates Kathleen Brennan, metalsmithing and Jonathan Hale, drawing in their thesis exhibition.
Brennan says, "I am particularly interested in how a certain color, scent, touch, or taste attracts one person, but repels another. Through my artwork, I investigate the way the human body physically and metaphorically engages with the senses."
"As I create my work, I like to be involved in the study of other disciplines; my work is heavily based on ideas and concepts in sociology and psychology. In my current work, I use the entomological process of categorizing insects as a way to investigate issues of identity as formed by self and by society," says Hale.
Opening Reception: Friday, May 9, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
On display through June 10
Hatton Gallery, Visual Arts Building, Pitkin Street (map & parking)
Open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. & Saturday, 1 - 4 p.m.
Free and Open to the Public
