| STEELBAND & PERCUSSION CONCERTS |

Enjoy two fine percussion concerts this week: The Steelband Concert features the music of Trinidadian composer, arranger, and pan artist Jit Samaroo and showcases the steel pan in a small group jazz context with performances by graduating senior Paul Munzenrider and music faculty member and Steelband director Don Prorak. The Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Eric Hollenbeck, welcomes special guest Dr. Chris Norton to perform works from the past and present with an eclectic mix of instruments, styles, and moods.

The Virtuoso Series continues with CSU Faculty Dr. Robert Brewer, tuba, joined by Roberta Mielke, piano and Dr. Eric Hollenbeck, percussion, for an exciting concert that features a new piece for the Colorado Composers Project, the first concerto written for tuba, a piece based on a Yeats poem, and a transcription of a violin piece for tuba by Brewer.
