| THEATRE PROGRAM HONORED |
At the 40th Annual Region VII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, the CSU Theater program brought home multiple awards and certificates of excellence and recognition.
The Fall 2007 production of The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, directed by Dr. Laura Jones, was selected as a regional finalist; Cory Seymour, Tour Manager and Technical Director, and the Thoreau Touring Company won the coveted Golden Handtruck Award; faculty video designer Liza Williams and student video designer Annaleigh Timmerman won Certificates of Recognition; August Slaughter was recognized for his performance as Edward Emerson; fourteen student performers and their partners competed in the Irene Ryan Acting Competition; and Maura Robinson, a student in Dr. Eric Prince's upper division playwriting class, had her one-act play The Shrink Factor selected as one of six finalists by the National Playwriting Program.
Dr. Laura Jones was honored by Region VII's executive committee with the Faculty Excellence Certificate of Recognition in Directing. In addition, she was selected to participate in a Faculty Fellowship in Washington, DC in April. READ MORE (PDF) |
| MUSIC FACULTY WINS BEST TEACHER |
Congratulations to Assistant Professor of Percussion Dr. Eric Hollenbeck who received a 2008 Best Teacher Award. The award honors CSU educators who have made lasting impressions on the lives of their students and represent excellence in teaching. Dr. Hollenbeck will be honored at an Awards Dinner on April 4.
Other School of the Arts nominees included: David Ellerby, Scott Christensen, Paul Flippen, Lola Logsdon, and Phil Risbeck from the Department of Art and Forest Greenough, Cory Seymour, and Michelle Stanley from the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. MORE INFO |
