| Use What You Have!
Spring is right around the corner. Perhaps you are feeling a strong dose of Spring Fever. If so, this is a great time to use this joyful energy to declutter and get organized.
If you are hesitant to get started because you cannot go out and buy new storage containers and organizing supplies - stop right there!
Often, when you declutter and reorganize you whittle down so much you don't even need more storage options. But if you do, here are a few creative ways to repurpose and reuse what you already own:
- Sentimental coffee mugs you have gathered over the years may be used to hold pens, pencils, desk accessories or even makeup brushes.
- zip lock bags are perfect for containing small items such as puzzle pieces, game pieces, spools of thread, or matches.
- Pretty boxes or tins may be used to collect keepsakes such as cards.
- Large tote bags may be used to collect and contain smaller bags.
- Wrapping paper tubes may be used to roll freshly iron linens (tie with leftover ribbon).
- baskets may be used (even the lids) to group items under a sink. It is much easier to pull an entire basket out to get an item you need than it is to reach into the back and knock everything over.
So go ahead and take a look around your home. Be creative and reuse what you already own to help you get organized. You will be amazed at how little you need to purchase.
