The new legislative session began last week, and State Senator Cynthia Stone Creem and Representative Stephen Kulik have re-filed An Act to Sustain Community Preservation, the CPA legislation that seeks to stabilize the statewide CPA Trust Fund and make other improvements to the Act. To see a bill summary, the text of the legislation and a list of legislators who sponsored this bill last session, click here.
Now, we need your help! Legislators have until February 4, 2011 to sign on as co-sponsors; even if they sponsored last session, they must sign on again. Please contact your state Senator and Representative and ask them to co-sponsor An Act to Sustain Community Preservation, filed by Senator Creem (Senate Docket #82) and Representative Kulik (House Docket #474).
Here's how to contact your legislators: - If you know the name of your legislators, you'll find contact info for State Representatives here and State Senators here. - If you don't know the name of your legislators, click here to search using your home address. It's that simple - just call, email or write your legislators, identify yourself as a constituent, and request that they contact both Senator Creem and Rep. Kulik's offices to sign on as a co-sponsor of An Act to Sustain Community Preservation. Please use the 'forward email' button below to alert CPA advocates in your town, including members of your City Council or Board of Selectmen, and ask them to contact their legislators too.
Important: Please keep us updated on your progress Please send us a copy of any emails you receive from your legislator, or if you contact them by phone, let us know their response. We'll keep you updated as the bill progresses. As always, thank you for your support! |
