The E! Network's "Daily 10" Debbie Matenopoulos presided at the Closing Night Ceremony. Olga Malea's LITTLE GREEK GODFATHER closed this year's film festival.  The movie was based on an autobiographical short story by Nicholas Papandreou, established writer and son of former Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou. It was filmed on location, in various villages around the Hania area of the island of Crete and at the historical house of Georgios Papandreou in Kastri, Athens.  The director Olga Malea and actors Tex Pardue and Manos Garvas were present. Peter Bogdonavich presented an Honorary Orpheus Award to legendary Gena Rowlands. Seymour Cassel presented the Honorary Award to acclaimed production designer Phedon Papamichael who was not able to attend from Greece.  His award was accepted by close family friend Nick Cassavetes. John Aniston, Michael Constantine, Barbara De Fina, Kary Antholis, and George Chakiris also presented awards.

The opening remarks of Greece's General Secretary of Information Panos Leivadas, under whose auspices the Festival was created this year, kicked off the evening's festivities. The second year festival enjoyed enthusiastic audience attendance and full theatres throughout its five-day run, with screenings held at the Egyptian Theatre, Linwood Dunn Theater, Spielberg Theatre at the Egyptian, and Pacific Design Center.

LAGFF showcases new films from Greece, Cyprus, and filmmakers of Greek descent worldwide.  Over thirty feature films and documentaries, many US premieres, played within the five-day Festival. LAGFF promotes and nurtures Greek Cinema while bridging the gap between Greek filmmakers and Hollywood. The Festival also offers screenings of film masterworks, seminars on important contemporary film issues, and tributes to significant filmmakers and performers. Orpheus Awards are given to the most outstanding new films in the dramatic, documentary and short film categories.
