Writer of the film 300 confirmed for screenwriting panel!
Kurt Johnstad, the writer of the blockbuster hit 300 will participate in this year's screenwriting panel along with Barbara De Fina (Executive producer of GOODFELLAS), Stratton Leopold (Executive producer of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III), Kary Antholis, (HBO Executive), Christina Lazaridi (Academy-Award® nominated writer), Cooper Layne (writer of THE CORE and THE FOG (2005)), Courtney Flavin (writer for BOSTON LEGAL and THE COSBY SHOW), and Deborah Gilels (producer for Disney, ESPN). There will be a special presentation on adapting Greek literature and mythology into Hollywood blockbusters by Rafika Chawishe (Actress and director at the National Theatre of Greece), and Sissy Papathanasiou (UNESCO member, cultural historian). The event is moderated by Steven Peros (writer of THE CAT'S MEOW starring Kirsten Dunst and directed by Peter Bogdanovich) and sponsored by S.A.M.B.O Events.

Call for volunteers!
Come join LAGFF and learn what it takes to organize a film festival! We are looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of preparation and on site organization leading up to and during this year's festival, which runs June 25-29 in Hollywood. Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience first hand how a film festival comes together and to interact with a dynamic group. Please note that our Volunteer Orientation is on Saturday, May 31st at 1:30pm.
