Announcing a special musical event!
 Dear Music Lover,
Maria-Elena Kolovos invites you to join her on Sunday, June 15th at 3:00 pm for an afternoon of arias, art songs, and Greek classics to benefit
the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts.
Founded in Paros, Greece in 1966, the Aegean Center is an independent, not-for-profit organization offering instruction in the visual arts, music,
and creative writing and a foundation in Classical Art and Literature. At the heart of the Aegean Center's program thrives an active commitment to the Greek
cultural heritage of paideia, the process of educating the whole person within a distinctive environment. Celebrating 42 years on Paros, an island rich in history
and culture as well as a hub of contemporary Greek artistic and intellectual life, the Aegean Center truly reflects this Ancient Greek notion and stands as a unique
and important experiment in modern learning.
A former student of the Aegean Center and a native of Los Angeles, Ms. Kolovos is excited to celebrate in song the unparalleled spirit and work of this
Greek-American arts organization. The Musical Benefit will showcase Ms. Kolovos, solo voice, and Dr. Anatolia Ioannides, on piano, performing works
by Monteverdi, Handel, Verdi, Schumann, Schubert, Debussy, Villa-Lobos and Hadjidakis.
