Basement Doctor Clinic:

Home Safe Home: Help your lost pet come home safely!
What would happen to your pet if it would become lost?

Less than a quarter of all lost pets which are brought to animal welfare organizations each year are ever reunited with their families. Why? Because the animals are not identifiable due to lost collars or tags, or illegible tattoos. Heartbreaking lost pet signs posted on trees and street poles just don't work well enough.

Equip your pet for the best chance of survival and reunion with you! Microchipping is the only proven, permanent form of animal identification. The Basement Doctor and CHA Animal Shelter can hep!
What is a pet microchip?

A microchip for an animal is a small capsule about the size of a grain of rice, which has a unique identifing number preprogrammed into it.

Typically implanted just beneath the skin between the shoulder blades, the process is similar to vaccination and most animals do not react when the microchip is implanted. The microchip remains just beneath the skin for the animal's lifetime, a permanent passive form of identification.

If your pet becomes lost and is recovered, a simple scanner is used to read the chip and you can then be reunited with your pet.

It's so reliable it's used by zoos and professional animal caregivers. Microchipping has been crucial in identifying and reuniting lost pets and their owners for years.
