Greetings!
Welcome to the latest newsletter from Luminate. For my regular readers I apologise for my absence over the last few months - this year has proven to be incredibly busy and my newsletter has been a victim of this success.
However I am pleased to be back and have an inspirational concept to share with you.
Last week I was lucky enough to attend a retreat in Turkey with Jason Vale, one of the UK's leading expert on health. Jason is a pretty amazing guy and has worked with a number of athletes, celebrities, and even royalty, to inspire them to lead healthier lifestyles.
During the retreat Jason shared a story that really inspired me - I'd like to share it with you and I hope it has the same impact.
Warm Regards, Nicola |

What on earth are you doing!? |
|
|
When you were little did your parents ever say to you "What on earth are you doing?" in that tone that implied you were doing something stupid?
Well I'd like to use that question but in a different context.
I would like you to imagine that one evening whilst out walking you stumble across Dr Who's TARDIS (I did ask you to use your imagination so bear with me on this story).
Unable to resist the temptation you enter the TARDIS and before you can blink, you find yourself in a strange planet. On opening the TARDIS door you are greeted by a group of strange creatures that you can only assume are aliens. They appear friendly and approach you to introduce themselves. You are delighted to find that they speak your language.
Their first question to you is "What planet are you from?" and you hesitantly tell them "Planet Earth". Their response is "Wow, Earth! We have always wanted to go to Earth, we hear that it is an amazing planet. Tell us what on Earth are you doing? Have you seen the Pyramids? Have you been to the Barrier Reef? Have you walked along the Great Wall of China? Have you connected with some amazing humans? Please do tell us, what on Earth you are doing?"
How would you respond to this question? |
|
So, what are you doing? |
|
| Would you be able to tell the aliens all the magical and wonderful things that you get to see and do on a daily basis?
Or would your response go something along the lines of...."Well, errm...no but I can tell you what is going on in Eastenders!"
This story (as silly as it is) really made me think about how I spend my time and what I focus on. It is really easy to get caught up in our daily lives and take for granted that we live on an amazing planet - the only place in the Universe where life is known to exist. Every day we get to witness some incredible feats of nature but, for most of us, these pass us by as we are too consumed by the everyday stress of life or the TV!
How could you live your life, so that when you encounter that group of aliens you could tell them all the wonderful things that you have seen and done on planet Earth?
So...What on Earth are you doing? |
