What do many poos, cold hands & feet have in common?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They are both related to the digestive system in Chinese medicine. The digestive system is still maturing in babies and will not be complete from a Chinese point of view until they are seven years of age. Signs that it is weak are many poos, looser or runnier in consistency, as well as cold hands and feet. This can be corrected at the root of the problem by looking to their diet rather than buying mittens and putting on extra layers of socks! So if your baby is weaned, it means avoiding dairy products as these can tax a young digestive system. Instead you can offer vegetables in a broth made of beef bones or chicken bones for example. This way they will be getting the necessary calcium and it will be strengthening their digestive system at the same time as these types of food are easier to digest. It means if they are having fruit that you make sure it is warmed up, not straight out of the refrigerator and that it also has some cinnamon or ginger in there for the cooler months of autumn and winter as they are warming spices that will also strengthen their digestive system. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can soup improve eggs and sperm?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't speak highly enough about the importance of diet when it comes to improving your fertility. Fresh food is best - chuck out the rest. To build up blood and improve your Kidney energy, which means you'll be making a healthier lining in your uterus for the growing bub and you'll be improving the quality of your eggs if you have them and sperm if you make them, you need to make broth from scratch. I have many clients who say, so what about packet soup - does that count? Or, how about soup in a can? Sorry folks - they are big no no's. Let me explain how to make a broth in the blink of an eye - well almost! Get some beef bones or marrow bones or a chicken carcass left over from lunch and put into a stock pot. If the bones are raw, heat the water till it boils then toss it out and start again as this cleans the bones - if it they were already cooked - you can skip this step. Then throw in a stalk or two of celery with the leaves in tact, quarter a large onion with the skin on and cut up a carrot or two with the skin on. Fill stock pot with water to cover the ingredients. Bring to the boil then simmer for two hours and ta-dahhh, you have yourself a delish home made broth that will do wonders for your fertility. Of course you'll need to add some salt to taste after that as well as any meat and veg you like. It's a wonderful base for a casserole or stew or soup and beats all those supposed pre-made stocks hands down with the benefits for your fertility. You can freeze portions to use for another time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
