PRECIOUS PRE-CONCEPTION CARE
Blokes & Fertility
some facts they outta know
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It takes almost four months to make one complete sperm. It's amazing it takes that long to make one of the little guys but since they have such an important job, is it any wonder? This means, if you want to produce a healthy batch of sperm that hasn't been changed by alcohol, coffee drinking, stress, poor nutrition, infections etc then you'll need four months! Sperm are more vulnerable than eggs as they are much smaller and are developed entirely within the present environment. This is also a good thing as you can make big changes to the quality of a batch in only four months, unlike eggs where half of their quality was made whilst the woman was in her mum's tum during pregnancy. A few good reasons for detoxing your body for four months are: * Some studies show up to 75% of fertility trouble can be due to the male factor. * Men are responsible for 50% of the baby's genetic make up and therefore its health and the health of the pregnancy. * Leukaemia, asthma, other respiratory diseases and mental development are linked to the father. For example, there is a ten-fold increase in testicular cancer for offspring of men exposed to organic solvents (found in industrial paints, some decorative paints, paint removers and epoxy resins followed by polyurethane coatings for floors). * A study in Karolinska, Stockholm showed that 14% abnormal sperm was equal to a 14% chance of miscarriage and a 43% abnormal sperm rate was equal to an 83% chance of miscarriage. Half the miscarriages in the study were due to the male factor. * Men are more often in toxic occupations and therefore need to look at this seriously before conception. Antioxidants are of particular importance in this case but are also a very important factor for most males to consider four months prior to conception. Much to most men's surprise, their fertility begins to decline after the age of 35. As men age their sperm cells mutate more. Most men don't realize they also have a biological clock that really needs to be acted upon. It's not written about much in the media but it is real and it is affecting fertility on a national scale. A recent study showed a greater risk of problems such as schizophrenia and autism in children born to older fathers. So what can a bloke do to improve his chances of not only conceiving but conceiving a healthy child? In the four months prior to conception he can: * Give alcohol and coffee a miss * Drink plenty of water
* Eat 95% fresh food * Take supplements of vitamins, minerals and fish oil * Decrease stress * Wear natural fibre underwear that is not tight ie boxers * Turn off all electrics in the bedroom and all wireless equipment in the house at night. * Don't rest laptops on his lap * Give regular hot baths and saunas and spas a miss If you're interested in finding out what you need to do or your man needs to do specifically, call Rebecca today to make an appointment, 0404 457 911, or email if you have any questions: rebeccamaryoung@gmail.com References: NAISH, Francesca.
