World Tai Chi & Qigong Day 2012
This Will be FUN, Join in a Worldwide Radio
Discussion about WTCQD! Monday, April 23rd.
Dear World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Supporters,
To understand the true breadth of what we, together, are creating once again together on Saturday, April 28th, 2012, scroll through the past events video gallery below.
Many years ago Roger Jahnke and the National Council on Aging created a panel of tai chi professionals from around the country, to create an efficacy guide for aging professionals who wished to work with local tai chi teachers to form classes for their institution.
One of the things all agreed on, was that the "social component" of tai chi was one of the powerful benefits it offered participants in classes.
On Saturday, April 28th, 2012, at 10 am local time, worldwide, we will have the opportunity to multiply that group energy profoundly as we come together as a global tai chi and qigong community, to provide a powerful vision of personal and global health & healing.
Let's kick this off a few days early, by all calling in to a 2 hour radio program, THIS MONDAY, April 23rd, 7 pm EDT (US time) dedicated to World Tai Chi & Qigong Day and World Healing Day events worldwide! Call in! This will be fun and historic, IF we all participate (see below).
Talk you to all on Monday on the radio program. Let's have a caller from every participating city and nation.

Even just your voice saying, "I'm (your name) from (your city, country), and we are preparing to do Tai Chi and Qigong with the world on April 28th with the worldwide wave!" IS A BIG DEAL.
If we want to make something truly spectacular of our world, there is nothing whatsoever that can stop us.

"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame."-Thomas Alva Edison
World Tai Chi and Qigong Day is a healing wave of positive intention circling the planet on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. In every time zone around the world-70 countries-people will practice tai chi, qigong and meditation in parks, fields, community centers, or at their local tai chi school. Quietly the day paints a vision of possibilities for humanity each year providing a profound example to millions who participate. The purpose of the day can be summed up in four steps:
* To educate the world about the profound health and healing benefits of tai chi and qigong.
* To thank Chinese culture for creating and sharing these profoundly valuable gifts with the world.
* To bring together people across racial, economic, religious, and geo-political boundaries, to join together for the purpose of health and healing.
* To give a powerful example of how the power of the Internet can be used to foster global health and healing.
"World Tai Chi Day promotes health, body awareness, and exercise through the practice of tai chi. OFFCIAL GERMAN CHAMIONSHIPS IN TAIJIQUAN (Tai-chi-chuan)
Official German Championships in Taijiquan (Tai-chi-chuan)
Hanover, the 18th of April 2012
The German Taijiquan Open are the first official German Championships in Taijiquan (Tai-chi- chuan): www.germantaijiquanopen.de. In the Chinese country of origin and in the rest of Europe competitions in Taijiquan already have a longstanding tradition. Now several organizations cooperate under the patronage of the German Taijiquan and Qigong Netzwork (TQN) to establish these national German Championships. The competition will feature forms and push hands, the latter of which is a kind of standing-wrestling. The competition will take place from the 25th to the 27th of May 2012. Nils Klug, one of the main organizers of the event, states: We would like to establish this professional tournament here in Germany and let it win recognition and positive resonance abroad to help all Taijiquan enthusiasts to meet, compete and exchange in a friendly atmosphere!"
The city of Hanover became the venue for the tournament early on. Konstantin Berberich from the CTND explains this: In our view the international connections, the infrastructure and central position of Hanover alone make it one of the best choices as a venue for the event. Also the green surroundings and nice atmosphere around the Centre for University Sports close to the famous Hanover gardens give it a very positive feeling in general."
Jan Leminsky from WuWei further points out the importance for a first-time competition in Taijiquan: Tournaments present a great opportunity to boost your motivation to train. They also help test your skills. Thus we hope that the Taijiquan skills of all participants will in the long run benefit from the German Taijiquan Open (GTO) and that the tournament will also help to present our art on a wider scale to the public."
